UPCOMING PERFORMANCES OF "DENIS & KATYA", FEDORA - GENERALI PRIZE FOR OPERA WINNER 2019
Denis & Katya is an opera based on the true story of two teenagers: in 2016, after a stand-off with Special Forces, Denis Muravyov and Katya Vlasova live-streamed their last hours, leaving behind a trail of devastating video footage.In 2019, Opera Philadelphia and its co-commission partners Music Theatre Wales and Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier brought their tragic story to the stage with a chamber opera composed by Philip Venables and written and staged by Ted Huffman.
Denis & Katya, one of the 10 most performed new operatic works in the world over the last seven years (Source: Operabase, 2023), won the FEDORA - GENERALI Prize for Opera 2019.
